Workshop time table

• The beginners workshop will start 13:00 on Tuesday April 17 and will end not later than 18:00 same day.
• The main workshop will start 9:00 on Wednesday and Thursday and will end 17:30 on Wednesday and about 13:00 on Thursday.

Transportation to the workshop venue and the conference dinner.

The organizers will provide transportation for those participants who replied to our hotel inquiry mid of this week.
Workshop buses go

• from Berlin/City to the venue on Wednesday and Thursday morning.
• from the venue back to the city on Wednesday.

Please note that there is no transportation provided for the beginners workshop on Tuesday and at the end of the main workshop on Thursday. For those trips, we would recommend to make yourself familiar with the workshop web pages on How to reach DESY at Zeuthen.

We assume that participants, who didn't reply to the hotel inquiry, don't need transportation. Those people are kindly asked to either use public transportation or contact workshop at dcache dot org a.s.a.p., as the number of available seats in the workshop buses is limited.

• Please make sure you are in time for the bus as in most locations, the bus won't be able to wait in front of the hotels.
• Workshop buses will have the DESY logo attached somewhere

Tutorials, hands-on sessions, virtual machines and prerequisites.

The local organizers are providing central virtual machines for the basic tutorial as well as for the hands-on sessions. You will however need to bring a laptop in order to have a terminal and a web browser. If that's not possible for you, please let us know. We might be able to provide some spare laptops. Windows users should make sure that their laptop has PuTTY or any other terminal program installed.

WiFi

The venue is equipped with WiFi and provides eduroam access. If your laptop is not configure for eduroam, please send the MAC address of your wireless network interface to workshop at dcache dot org (if not yet done during the registration process). We will provided a very limited number of wired ethernet connections.
